Buffalo County. Lillian Annette Rowe Sanctuary & Iain Nicolson Audubon Center. About 420 acres of native tallgrass/mixed-grass prairie, plus 220 acres of restored prairie.

Hall County.Platte River Whooping Crane Trust. About 6,400 acres of native and re-seeded wet tallgrass meadows.

Hall County. Nebraska Bird Observatory & Nature Center at Crane Meadows. About 240 acres of meadows and wooded habitats, and nearly seven miles of hiking trails.

Jefferson County.Rock Creek Station State Historical Park & Rock Glen Wildlife Management Area. Park has over 100 ac. of virgin and restored prairie, Rock Glen has several hundred acres of virgin and restored prairie.

Jefferson County. Rose Creek Wildlife Management Area. About 200 ac. of oak savanna, 8 mi. SW of Fairbury (402/749-7650).

Lancaster County. Branched Oak Wildlife Management Area. About 200 ac. of virgin prairie.

Lancaster County. Little Salt Fork Marsh Preserve and Little Salt Creek Wildlife Management Area. About 336 ac. of saline wetlands and meadows.

Lancaster County. Nine Mile Prairie. 230 ac. virgin tallgrass prairie.
