Red Willow Reservoir State Recreation Area and Wildlife Management Area

Frontier County and Red Willow County: McCook. 1628 acre reservoir, 4,320 acres of upland. Located 11 miles north of McCook, U.S. Highway 83. Modern camping facilities are present. This reservoir in a water-poor region attracts good numbers of migratory water birds, including many geese and ducks. Burrowing owls should be searched for in the prairie dog town near Spring Creek.
