The Nebraska Birding Trails website uses Google Maps for birding sites display and search. Nebraska Birding Trails is not liable for any display issues that may arise from Google Maps, and makes no guarantee of accuracy of site locations as displayed. Site locations are approximations of Latitude/Longitude and should not be used as exact placemarkers.

Printing with Internet Explorer

For optimal printing of pages from Nebraska Birding Trails Website, set Right and Left margins to 0.250 inches or less, and orientation to Portrait.

The majority of the text for this website was written by Dr. Paul Johnsgard, Ornithologist

Maps

Print-Version Maps for Birding Sites and Regions Were created by Rachel Simpson at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and Eric Volden of the Rainwater Basin Joint Venture. Assistance in map development was provided by: Linda Brown, Mace Hack, Paul Johnsgard, Steve Moran, Kelly Rezac, Dave Titterington, Sudhir Ponnappan of Nebraska Game and Parks, and Jeff Sass of Snitily Carr.

All maps are in a Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) projection, UTM Zone 14, North American Datum of 1983 (NAD 83). Maps were created using ArcGIS versions 8 and 9.

Site data were obtained from members of the Nebraska BIrding Trails Workgroup, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission (Realty Division), and the Rainwater Basin Join Venture. Background data were obtained from the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources; Nebraska Department of Roads; ESRI(Redlands, CA); and the Conservation and Survey Division, School of Natural Resources, University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
